OBJECTIVES

Technical Due Diligence for Financing, M&A and Fundraise

Technical due diligence is essential to secure investment decisions for all financing, equity raises, or M&A transactions. By assessing all technical, regulatory, and operational aspects — from design and technology choices to permitting, CAPEX/OPEX assumptions, and asset condition — we provide a clear understanding of risks and value drivers. This comprehensive, independent analysis supports lenders, investors and shareholders in validating the bankability of the project, optimise valuation during equity raises, mitigating uncertainties, and bring confidence and clarity to all parties throughout the transaction process.

ADVISORY ADVISORY

Solar – Energy Yield Assessment (EYA)

We deliver independent, bankable solar EYAs. We conduct detailed reviews of project designs and provide a comprehensive analysis of all loss factors, monthly and annual Performance Ratio values, degradation rates and gross and net annual production to produce reliable P50, P75 and P90 estimates. Our methodology is based not only on our expertise and experience in conducting equivalent audits, but our extensive market knowledge and experience in the operational management of equivalent projects.

Wind – Energy Yield Assessment (EYA)

We deliver independent, bankable wind EYAs. We analyse measurement conditions, instrumentation quality, long-term wind data, topography and roughness to produce reliable P50, P75 and P90 estimates. Our assessment includes long-term corrections, wind shear analysis, validated power and thrust curves, wind flow modelling (CFD), and secondary losses such as curtailments and environmental constraints. This approach verifies that loss calculations align with mitigation measures and turbine load assessments.

Site Suitability

Greensolver’s Site Suitability assessments verifyfy whether project sites can reliably host solar, wind or BESS assets. We analyse climatic data, environmental documentation and geotechnical reports to identify soil constraints, contamination risks, seismic exposure, flooding potential and access limitations.

For BESS, we also assess ground stability, external hazards and safety zoning. This ensures technology–site compatibility and highlights risks affecting long-term performance.

Permits & Regulatory Compliance

We review all permits, licenses, and authorisations to assess regulatory risks and secure project viability. From land lease agreements to environmental and grid connection requirements, our permitting and regulatory compliance review identifies constraints, red flags, and gaps that may affect the development timeline, CAPEX, or the ability to reach Ready-to-Build (RTB) and Commercial Operation Date (COD). By validating project documentation against industry standards, we safeguard the commercial feasibility of projects at every step. Our goal is to ensure that projects can be developed, built and operated as defined in the Financial Model and to ensure that all related risks are properly mitigated, while guaranteeing the implementation of potential compensatory measures.

Equipment Review

We conduct independent equipment reviews covering all major renewable technologies. This includes PV modules and inverters, wind turbine models (with analysis of historical issues, known technical problems and available mitigations), and BESS components such as containerised battery systems, HVAC and safety features, inverters, MV/HV transformers, switchgear, electrical protection and fire-protection systems. Our technical assessments verify compliance with IEC and international standards, evaluates degradation behaviour and operational risks, and ensures equipment is reliable and bankable.

Design Review

We deliver independent design reviews for solar, wind and BESS projects, verifying compliance with technical standards and site constraints. Our assessment covers site layout, physical feasibility, access and logistics, SLD consistency, and integration with topography and the environment. For solar and wind, we review module and turbine layouts, shading/roughness impacts, and civil–electrical design interfaces. For BESS, we evaluate system architecture, spatial configuration, safety zoning and control logic. This ensures early risk detection and bankable project design

Contracts Review (BoP, EPC, TSA, LTSA, O&M, BESS supply,
PPA, CPPA ...)

Greensolver’s contract reviews evaluates all major project agreements — BoP, EPC, TSA, LTSA, O&M, BESS supply contracts, and PPA/CPPA — to ensure they align with market standards and provide robust guarantees, liability caps and liquidated damages. We analyse scope of work, risk allocation, pricing structures, performance guarantees, delay penalties, maintenance obligations and the coherence of interfaces across contracts. Our independent reviews identify gaps, overlaps and residual risks, ensuring long-term project bankability.

Site Visits

Our site visits provide an independent, on-site verification of solar, wind and BESS assets. We assess operational conditions and regulatory compliance alongside Technical Due Diligence data. Our experts perform structured visual inspections of civil and electrical works, modules or turbines, cabling, substations, access roads and safety systems. For BESS, we inspect battery containers, enclosure integrity, ventilation, safety zoning and electrical interfaces (subject to accessibility). We deliver clear inspection report for each visit, with photos, issues and corrective actions to secure asset performance and reliability.

TOOLS

Premium approach for technical due diligence

Tools

Our tools ensure accurate loss modelling, in-depth operational analysis of performance and degradation, robust uncertainty assessments, and reliable long-term production forecasts. For solar modelling, our experts use modelling tools (such as PVSyst) with high-quality irradiation databases (such as Meteonorm, Solargis, and PVGIS). For wind resource and energy yield simulations, we use WindPRO, WasP and advanced CFD engines. We combine these specific tools with detailed SCADA analytics and robust in-house tools to develop a complete picture of renewable energy assets.

Methodology

Greensolver applies a rigorous, bankable methodology aligned with ISO 9001 to ensure high quality in our work. We also use IEC (IEC 61400-1, IEC 61400-12-1), MEASNET and DAKKS/FGW standards. Our structured process ensures transparent data validation, traceable assumptions and consistent uncertainty treatment. Through this, we deliver reliable, lender-grade technical.
